The pub has an Australian theme which adds to the chilled out atmosphere. There is sand on the floor, lots of big comfy sofas and hilarious pictures in the toilets. We tried the homemade lemonade and nachos which were amazing. The tea and cakes on offer also look pretty good (as well as the beer). Very friendly place.
The Dugs have their own area which is the Sofa area at the back. You can enter via the “Dug Door” at the side of the pub.

Portobello
Fantastic place when you have a dog. Had a morning out at the Beach up from the Borders and worried would not get in anywhere with Diesel, a young Lurcher who can get so enthusiastic especially when in new places and meeting new people. Staff were fantastic. He even got a new name for the Espy – “Dingo”
Nice relaxing venue and dog friendly too…. bonus!! Will visit again.
The espy in Portobello…they do a fab breakfast! Perfect stop off after you have walked your dog on the beach.
The Espy on Portobello prom gets my vote! Even spied a dog nestling on one of their plush sofas one day & no one batted an eyelid. Plus they appear with a bowl of water before you’ve even thought to ask.
