Ducks Bar & Bistro, Aberlady

Main Street, Aberlady, East Lothian EH32 0RE. Tel: 01875 870682

From their website: “Very relaxed, dog friendly and child friendly as long as the parents are well behaved!”

Kate O’Donovan: The Ducks pub in Aberlady is fab too. Dropped in there after walking with dogs from Musselburgh and they were very welcoming, bringing a water bowl without being asked, and didn’t mind a tired pooch sitting on the sofas in the lounge area. They have a bistro, fine dining restaurant, bar and lounge area – and rooms to stay in. And the rooms will take dogs too. Good beer

We had a lovely day out in Haddington, we went to The Waterside bistro for Sunday lunch with Bailie, and then had a walk along the river. We had a wander around the town, all the shops were shut but it was nice as it reminded me of how Sunday’s used to be…! I would totally recommend The Waterside for food, it was amazing. Dogs are allowed in the bar (you can order food there). Bailie loved it as the staff gave him lots of attention! Visited 29th April 2012.
