St Fillans: Four Seasons

I booked us into the Four Seasons for my partner’s birthday in November. We were given the cabin farthest away from the main hotel and it was ideal. The cabin itself was cosy and came with everything we needed, including home-made shortbread, biscuits for the dog and a very comfy bed. I’d asked for a birthday cake to be provided and it was delicious! The woods started right outside our door and the dog absolutely loved exploring up the hill. It was also a huge bonus to be able to let him out for a late-night pee without having to get dressed and trail through hotel corridors. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful and the dog loved being able to dry off in front of the fire in the bar after getting soaked during various walks. We ate in the more formal restaurant both nights and thoroughly enjoyed everything. They describe the cuisine as “modern Scottish”, an accurate description of a menu that made the best of local produce whilst presenting it beautifully. To summarise, we loved the hotel and intend to stay there again, with the dog, as soon as possible.
